Basic Procedures of Construction:

EXCAVATION:

This includes setting the forms and digging the pool according to survey and elevations. Excess dirt is hauled away in dump trucks unless utilized on site.

PIERS:

In unstable conditions we may recommend piers. This will help stabilize your pool against ground movement.

STEEL & BEAM:

The steel of the pool is tied on 8" and 4" centers with 3/8" rebar. The beam is a 4 bar box beam structured with four bars of 1/2" steel near the top of the pool wall. Skimmers and niches are also set at this phase.

GUNITE:

The gunite is applied pneumatically with 6" walls, 9" floors and 12" in the coves and beam. This results in a pool shell with a minimum strength of 4000 PSI. The gunite steps, walls, and love seats are formed as specified and attention is given to the details of its finish.

COPING & TILE:

Experienced craftsmen place the coping and tile selected by the customer on the beam. Attention is given to the joints and cuts as they are mortared in place. It is at this point in construction when we will build outdoor kitchens, grills, fire pits, and fireplaces if desired, to help complete your backyard dream.

PLUMBING &
EQUIPMENT:

All of the main pool lines are individually valved with Schedule 40 PVC piping. After installation, all lines are pressure-tested to assure that there is no leakage. In most cases it is now that we will install your equipment.

ELECTRICAL:

A certified electrician wires the lights, motors, timers and heaters. Conduit is used to protect underground wiring. Freeze guards are set up on every pool system to protect plumbing and equipment against freezes. The electrician will tap into the existing breaker panel in the house. If it is not large enough an extra sub-panel is necessary to accommodate the system.

DECKING:

The pool deck is poured on a layer of cushion sand with 3/8" rebar set on 16" centers. Expansion joints are placed about every 8' to 10' to allow flexibility of ground shifting without cracking the deck. Many types of decks are available like seeded aggregate, patterned concrete and natural flagstone, just to name a few.
